| MathCounts Entrance Exam | Interested in trying out for the award-winning Rancho MathCounts team? The entrance exam will be given Wednesday, August 4th at 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. The test consists of 20 short answer questions, you will have 30 minutes to complete. The test will be administered over zoom. Please be sure to log in to chrome with your iusd.org account. The zoom link will open at 8:45 a.m. and the test will begin promptly at 9:00. | Science Olympiad Entrance Exam | Do you love science and are Interested in trying out for the Rancho Science Olympiad team? The entrance exam will be given Wednesday, August 4th at 11:00am – 12:00pm. The test will be divided into 5 major sections (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Earth & Space, Engineering), each consisting of 10-15 multiple choice and short answer questions. You are encouraged to choose the 1-3 sections that you are most knowledgeable in, and focus on answering those questions to the best of your ability. Test questions in each of the 5 sections will assess students' general knowledge of that area of science within the context of the 2021-2022 Science Olympiad events. You can view the event slate HERE (we are Division B - Middle School). Please use soinc.org and scioly.org to get an overview of the specific topics that may be covered in each section. Do not be overwhelmed by the amount of information in these two websites; just use these sites to guide your overall studying direction. Our tryouts exam is designed to be reasonable; do not stress, just try your best. Before the test: Please fill out the application form where you can share past experience, specific events you are interested in, and other helpful information for our holistic review process.
